MK Danon: Legal Advisers Rule Here

MK Danny Danon has called to put an end to what he says is “the rule of legal advisers” in Israel. Speaking at a gathering of deputy mayors, he explained that legal advisers try to promote their own personal agendas and interfere as elected officials try to run the country.

Danon brought as an example the issue of the Ulpana neighborhood in Beit El, explaining how Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu spent countless hours trying to find a solution to prevent the demolitions. He finally found an agreed upon solution which even received approval by the State Attorney’s Office.

“The Prime Minister comes to a discussion in his office, after reaching an agreement on the Ulpana neighborhood, and the State Attorney’s Office people come and tell him, ‘Mr. Prime Minister, we’ve changed our minds. What we said last week cannot be done.’ And then the Prime Minister has to fight to have the agreement he presented accepted by legal experts,” said Danon.

Knesset, Police Crack Down on Illegal Africans

Knesset Cabinet committee approved a new legislation calling for a five-year jail sentence and nearly half a million shekel ($130,000) fine for anyone employing illegal infiltrators. The bill states that the daily infiltration of the migrants has “become a strategic threat to Israeli society... especially in poorer neighborhoods.”

MK Danny Danon praised this legislation saying that "It seems the long struggle for the expulsion of infiltrators has begun to give the first fruits.”

Approximately 25,000 infiltrators are scheduled to be deported, while the government is looking for another country to accept an equal number whose lives may be threatened if they return home.

Documented evidence of streams of Africans crossing the border from Egypt, usually with the help of Bedouin human traffickers, began to set off the danger sirens in the government, which previously ignored complaints of residents of Eilat, Dimona and Arad that their cities were being overwhelmed and endangered.
