Danny Danon is member of the Israeli Knesset on behalf of the Likud party, Chairman of the World Likud organization and a member of the Jewish Agency's Board of Governors.
Danon was born in Ramat Gan, Israel, to Joseph and Yocheved Danon. After completing his military service in the IDF as a Lieutenant, he was sent by the Jewish Agency to Florida, where he encouraged Jews to come to Israel and stand up against anti-Israel propaganda.
He earned a Bachelors degree in International Affairs and Masters Degree in Public Policy, from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
In 1996 he was appointed Senior Advisor to the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee of the Knesset. After leading major initiatives to ensure the status of Jerusalem as the eternal capital of the Jewish pepole he was elected the Chairman of the World Betar organization.
Danon was of one of the most vociferous activists against Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's disengagement plan. Danny organized many demonstrations against ceding land to Israel’s Arab enemies and stood up to support the Jewish heroes that were displaced from their homes.
In June 2006, Danon was elected Chairman of the World Likud organization, and in February 2009 was elected as a member of the Israeli Parliament, the Knesset.
Danon is married to Talie and father to 3 children.
