Going after Bishara in court

Danny Danon's petition against providing pension and other privilages to former MK Bishara was denied by the Supreme Court of Justice, not without signaling to the Israeli legislator (Knesset) that it should deal with this issue directly, and not through the judiciary branch. The court also sent a direct message to the Interior Minister that he should contemplate using his statutory authority, or else it would accept the petition in the future.

Danon petitioned earlier this year to the Supreme Court to stop pension payments and deprive citizenship from the former MK, who is suspected with treason and aiding the Hizbullah during the second Lebanon war. Following these accusations, the former MK fled the country to Lebanon, and hasn't returned since.
