In light of last week’s US midterm elections, MK Danny Danon has stood in his usual vocal position by reflecting on the results. From the BBC to the New York Times back to Israel’s own Jerusalem Post, MK Danon is cited for warmly welcoming the new class of freshman US officials as well as the subsequent political makeover following them.
Danon said he hoped "that the new majority will convince President Obama that the American people reject unprecedented pressure on Israel, which has every right to build communities for its men, women and children in the heart of the country, in Judea, Samaria and everywhere in Jerusalem."
Enlivened by its relevance to the Israeli condition, Danon was keen on adding wishful support and encouragement to the new Congressmen upon their arrival in Washington. Convinced that the change will refurbish the US-Israel connection, Danon left reporters in saying “The huge influx of newly elected representatives and senators to Washington includes dozens of strong friends of Israel who will put the brakes on the consistently dubious, sometimes dangerous policies of President Obama regarding these past two years”.
